Borussia Dortmund have bolstered their attack with the signing of Maximilian Beier, and the 21 year old has put pen to paper on a five year contract with the club.

Maximilian Beier has become Borussia Dortmund's fifth signing of the summer transfer window, arriving from TSG Hoffenheim for an initial fee of 28.5 million euros. With performance add-ons, the deal could rise up to 30 million euros. The striker has signed a five year contract with BVB.

The Black and Yellows were on the lookout for a new striker following the sale of Niclas Füllkrug to West Ham United. Beier quickly emerged as the club's top target. And Borussia Dortmund managed to beat out competition from the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, and Bayer Leverkusen to secure his signature.

I'm proud to play for one of the best teams in Europe: Maximilian Beier delighted after Borussia Dortmund transfer

"I'm really looking forward to this next big step in my career. In the talks with Borussia Dortmund, I could feel from the very first minute how much they wanted me and I immediately had a great feeling. I'm proud to be able to play for one of the best teams in Europe from now on and I'm extremely motivated to get going and make the fans happy. The club's goals and mine are the same: we want to win titles. I will give it my all," Beier said.

Beier enjoyed an impressive breakthrough year with TSG Hoffenheim last season, and will look to pick up right where he left off. He is set to partner fellow new signing Serhou Guirassy in the BVB attack. And his versatility could make him a valuable addition to Nuri Sahin's side.

Following the arrival of Maximilian Beier, the majority of Borussia Dortmund's transfer business for this summer appears to be done. Although a number of players could still leave the club, including strikers Youssoufa Moukoko and Sebastien Haller.
