Borussia Dortmund are said to be locked in complicated talks with Brighton & Hove Albion as they look to get the signing of Pascal Groß over the line.
It is no secret that Pascal Groß is a key transfer target for Borussia Dortmund, and has already decided in favour of a move to the club. But according to Ruhr Nachrichten, it still remains to be seen whether the Black and Yellows will be able to pull off the signing of the versatile midfielder.
Pascal Groß wants to join Borussia Dortmund after seven years at Brighton
The newspaper adds that while the BVB bosses are cautiously optimistic of completing the transfer of Groß this summer, negotiations with Brighton are proving to be very difficult. Borussia Dortmund had hoped to sign the 33 year old for a fee in the region of five million euros. But Brighton want a transfer fee in the double-digit million range.
With just three weeks to go before their first competitive game of the new season, Borussia Dortmund will hope that an agreement with Brighton can be reached soon.
Pascal Groß is coming off an excellent season with Brighton, and registered a total of 13 assists for the English Premier League side. His performances for Brighton also helped him earn a place in the Julian Nagelsmann's Germany squad for the European Championship.
Groß is primarily a central midfielder, but is also capable of playing in the number six role, in attacking midfield, and at full-back. And his versatility is one of the many reasons Borussia Dortmund are looking to sign him.
