Borussia Dortmund look set to complete the signing of Pascal Groß, and an agreement has already been reached on personal terms with the Germany international.
Pascal Groß has decided to join Borussia Dortmund, and Sky Sport are claiming that the club and the player have reached a verbal agreement on personal terms. The report adds that negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing, and the Black and Yellows are very optimistic of getting the deal over the line very soon.
A transfer fee in the region of 8-10 million euros is being mentioned, with Groß set to reject interest from Eintracht Frankfurt in favour of a move to Borussia Dortmund.
If the move goes through, Groß will return to German football after spending the last seven seasons with Brighton & Hove Albion. The midfielder has enjoyed an excellent late-career resurgence and could prove to be a shrewd signing for Borussia Dortmund.
Groß is coming off a strong season with Brighton, and managed five goals and 13 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions for them. His performances also helped him earn a place in the Germany squad for Euro 2024.
The 33 year old is primarily a central midfielder, but is also capable of playing in the number six role and in attacking midfield. He is also more than comfortable of filling in at full-back, and his versatility could prove to be very useful for Borussia Dortmund during what promises to be a gruelling upcoming campaign.
Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with a move for Rayan Cherki in recent weeks. But it remains to be seen if they will still pursue a move for the highly rated attacking midfielder if they sign Pascal Groß.
