Nico Schlotterbeck has had his say on Youssoufa Moukoko's move to OGC Nice, with the highly rated striker leaving Borussia Dortmund on an initial loan deal.
Youssoufa Moukoko was unhappy with his lack of playing time at Borussia Dortmund and decided to leave the club this summer, joining OGC Nice on an initial loan deal with an option to make the signing permanent at the end of next season. Borussia Dortmund sanctioned the highly rated striker's departure following the signings of Serhou Guirassy and Maximilian Beier.

With Moukoko leaving Borussia Dortmund, Nico Schlotterbeck has commented on the transfer (via Ruhr Nachrichten). "I have a great relationship with Mouki. I know he's an incredibly good person, a very, very good footballer. Unfortunately, he hasn't had that much playing time here of late. That's why this is the right move for him."
The BVB centre-back hopes that things go well for Moukoko at his new club. "I really only wish Mouki the best, because he's a good person and an outstanding footballer," Schlotterbeck added.
Moukoko came through the youth team ranks at Borussia Dortmund and made his first-team debut just one day after his 16th birthday. He went on to make a total of 99 appearances for the BVB first-team, but was left increasingly frustrated after being reduced to a bit-part role in recent seasons.
The 19 year old will hope to feature regularly and showcase his talent at OGC Nice, who are set to compete in the UEFA Europa League this season.
