Nuri Sahin has said that Maximilian Beier and Julien Duranville will get more minutes in the Borussia Dortmund team in the coming weeks.

The Borussia Dortmund attack has blown hot and cold so far this season, with last weekend's heavy defeat to VfB Stuttgart once again showing that the team is still very much a work in progress. Nuri Sahin has so far stuck with Donyell Malen and Karim Adeyemi in attack, with the likes of Maximilian Beier and Julien Duranville reduced to a bit-part role.

Maximilian Beier and Julien Duranville have struggled for playing time so far at Borussia Dortmund

Sahin was asked about the duo's lack of playing time during his pre-match press conference on Wednesday. And the Borussia Dortmund head coach made it clear that both players remain a key part of his plans.

"It's true that he [Duranville] hasn't seen any minutes so far. But he will definitely play a part for us this season. We have to be careful with him, also because of his past injuries. But I don't think it will be long before he gets minutes. The same goes for Maxi Beier. Both players will be very important for us this season... Beier is a player I really wanted. It's true he has only had a few minutes so far. But that will change."

Beier joined Borussia Dortmund from TSG Hoffenheim this past summer, and has been on the pitch for a total of 141 minutes so far. The Germany international was an unused substitute during BVB's win over Club Brugge and defeat to VfB Stuttgart last week.

Duranville also stayed on the bench last week and has not featured for the first team since his substitute appearance in the first round of the DFB-Pokal, which saw him open his goalscoring account for Borussia Dortmund. The talented winger recently made his debut for the Belgium national team.
