Ole Pohlmann: Bundesliga debut with Borussia Dortmund a dream come true
Ole Pohlmann has said that he is over the moon after making his Bundesliga debut for Borussia Dortmund against Heidenheim on Friday.
Young midfielder Ole Pohlmann made his first-team debut for Borussia Dortmund on Friday evening, coming on as a 59th minute substitute against Heidenheim. While he was unable to help his side get the three points, the 22 year old said that he is over the moon after making his childhood dream of playing in the Bundesliga come true.
In an interview with the club, Pohlmann said, "It was an incredible feeling when I realised I was coming on. For me, it was a childhood dream come true that I worked so hard for. I'm over the moon. I still can’t find the words to describe it."
Pohlmann signed a professional contract with Borussia Dortmund in June, and featured for the first-team during both their pre-season and mid-season training camps. And after being an unused substitute against Köln and Bochum, he was finally given the opportunity to make his competitive first-team debut against Heidenheim.
While Pohlmann reveled in his debut, he was also disappointed that Borussia Dortmund weren't able to continue their strong start to 2024 and get the three points against Heidenheim. "Heidenheim did really well. It was a scrappy game. It's a shame that we couldn't manage to win the game. We really wanted to get the three points."
Ole Pohlmann has been enjoying a strong season with the Borussia Dortmund U-23s, and has five goals and four assists to his name in 19 appearances in the 3. Liga. He will now hope to continue his development in the coming weeks and get more playing time in the Bundesliga.
