Paris Brunner could be set to make his Borussia Dortmund first-team debut this weekend amid the club's ever-growing injury list.

Just days after being named the player of the tournament at the FIFA U-17 World Cup, Paris Brunner is in line for his first-team debut at Borussia Dortmund. The highly rated forward has been training with the first-team since Thursday and Edin Terzic has revealed that he will be included in the BVB squad for their Bundesliga clash against RB Leipzig this weekend.

Capable of playing both through the middle and out wide, Brunner is considered to be one of the most exciting young talents at Borussia Dortmund. The 17 year old scored five goals as Germany won the FIFA U-17 World Cup, and also played a key role in their triumph at the U-17 European Championship earlier this year. He also has 19 goals to his name in 37 appearances for the Borussia Dortmund U-19s, including 11 in just 12 appearances this season.

With Youssoufa Moukoko and Sebastien Haller sidelined with injuries, Brunner will now get the opportunity to potentially make his first-team debut for Borussia Dortmund.

It was reported earlier this month that the BVB bosses will look to hold contract extension talks with Paris Brunner in the near future. His current contract with the Black and Yellows has 18 months left to run.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund will have to make do without Julian Ryerson (knee) and Youssoufa Moukoko (thigh) for their final four games of 2023. Both players picked up injuries during Wednesday's DFB-Pokal tie against VfB Stuttgart.
