By Tushar Bahl
Borussia Dortmund would like to extend the contract of Paris Brunner, and are reportedly planning to hold talks with the highly rated forward in the near future.
Paris Brunner is coming off an excellent FIFA U-17 World Cup campaign with Germany. The 17 year old played a vital role in the Germany U-17s' triumph in Indonesia and also won the Golden Ball, the award given to the player of the tournament. Now, Borussia Dortmund are said to be planning to hold talks with him over a new contract.
This is being reported by Sky Sport, who add that Brunner has just over 18 months left on his current contract with the Black and Yellows. And talks over a new deal are set to take place soon. The talented forward is also expected to travel with the BVB first-team for their mid-season training camp in Marbella next month.
Brunner, who scored five goals at the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup for Germany, was also named the player of the tournament at the European U-17 Championship earlier this year. He has scored 19 goals in 37 appearances for the Borussia Dortmund U-19s, including 11 in just 12 appearances this season.
Paris Brunner was suspended by Borussia Dortmund due to disciplinary issues in October, but he returned to the team before the World Cup. He is regarded as one of the most talented young players in the BVB ranks, and there are high hopes at the club that he will be able to break into the first-team in the near future.
