Report: Borussia Dortmund could look to sell Niklas Süle in the summer
Borussia Dortmund could look to part ways with Niklas Süle in the summer transfer window after a disappointing season for the defender.
Niklas Süle has found playing time hard to come by in recent weeks, with Nico Schlotterbeck and Mats Hummels ahead of him in the pecking order for centre-backs at Borussia Dortmund. And the Black and Yellows may look to part ways with the 28 year old in the summer, just two years on from his blockbuster move from Bayern Munich.
This is being reported by Sky Sport, who add that Borussia Dortmund are dissatisfied with the attitude and professionalism of Süle. And they are prepared to part ways with the centre-back in the summer.
Süle has made a total of 29 appearances for Borussia Dortmund this season, and has been on the pitch for 1906 minutes. Edin Terzic has relied on Hummels and Schlotterbeck as his centre-back pairing in the big matches, leaving Süle resigned to a back-up role.
The Germany international is one of the club's top earners, which could make it difficult for Borussia Dortmund to sell him as he still has two years left on his current contract. A number of Premier League clubs were interested in signing Süle before he decided to join BVB. And England could be a possible destination for him if he does look to leave the club this summer.
The future of Niklas Süle could also depend on whether or not Mats Hummels decides to stay at Borussia Dortmund. The veteran centre-back is currently weighing up his options, and will make a decision on his future at the end of the season.
