Report: Borussia Dortmund’s Abdoulaye Kamara set to join Greuther Fürth
Borussia Dortmund’s transfer plans continue to take shape as more players are seemingly set to join the club in the coming days and weeks. Waldemar Anton's signing has already been made official, with Serhou Guirassy, Pascal Groß and Rayan Cherki all reportedly set to be announced in the near future.
The club is also set for a continued stream of departures as this new look Borussia Dortmund begins to take shape under Nuri Şahin. The most recent of those departures seems set to be Abdoulaye Kamara.
Kamara, who is of Guinean descent, joined Die Schwarzgelben from Paris Saint-Germain’s youth academy in July of 2021. The player was earmarked to make his way to the first team but has spent most of his time with Borussia Dortmund’s second team, scoring one goal and providing 4 assists in the 3. Liga. The player is set to make the move to 2. Bundesliga side Greuther Fürth, where he will surely seek to establish himself as a first-team player and get his first true taste of professional football.
Dortmund is in the middle of revamping the entire squad, midfield included. The anticipated arrival of Pascal Groß, along with the fact that the club already has Emre Can, Salih Özcan, Felix Nmecha, Marcel Sabitzer and youth product Kjell Wätjen to choose from likely signals to Kamara that his chances of making it into the starting 11, or even on the bench for that matter, are slim unless someone were to depart. Separation, in this case, would clearly be the right option for all parties involved and will allow for Kamara to move his career forward in an environment where he’s more likely to get minutes.
