Report: Borussia Dortmund unlikely to make further signings if Gio Reyna leaves
By Tushar Bahl
Borussia Dortmund are not expected to be active again in the transfer market if Gio Reyna is sold before the end of the month.
The future of Gio Reyna is uncertain, with the attacking midfielder frustrated with his lack of playing time at Borussia Dortmund. A number of clubs have been linked with a move for Reyna in recent weeks, including Real Sociedad, SL Benfica, and Aston Villa. But the Black and Yellows have yet to receive a serious offer for the 21 year old.
More clarity on Reyna's future is expected this week, with his current contract with Borussia Dortmund set to expire at the end of next season.
But if he leaves the club before the end of the transfer window, Borussia Dortmund will not look to make further new signings. This is being reported by Ruhr Nachrichten. The report adds that Désiré Doué - who has been linked as a potential replacement for Reyna - is considered to be an interesting player by the BVB bosses. But he is not regarded as a serious target for this month.
Borussia Dortmund appear to be well stocked in attack at the moment following the signing of Jadon Sancho on loan from Manchester United. Donyell Malen also appears to be hitting his stride again, while Julian Brandt has been in fine form. Edin Terzic also has the likes of Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Marco Reus and Samuel Bamba to count on. While Karim Adeyemi and Julien Duranville will return to action soon following their recent injuries.
