Report: Borussia Dortmund willing to let Donyell Malen leave for €40-50 million
Borussia Dortmund are seemingly open to letting Donyell Malen leave the club in the summer for a fee of around 40-50 million euros.
Donyell Malen is enjoying an excellent second half of the season with Borussia Dortmund, and has been scoring goals for fun since the turn of the year. But his future at the club remains uncertain, with SportBILD (via Fussball.News) claiming that the BVB bosses are open to letting him depart for a fee in the region of 40-50 million euros.
Borussia Dortmund's aim is reportedly for Malen's sale to help fund the latest squad overhaul in the summer. It has been a disappointing season so far for the Black and Yellows, who face a difficult fight to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League.
Marco Reus and Mats Hummels are the other players who could potentially leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer, with their contracts expiring at the end of the season. Gio Reyna could also be a candidate for departure.
Malen was heavily linked with a move away from Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window as well. But nothing materialised in the end. He has since enjoyed a stunning turnaround, scoring six goals and assisting one in seven appearances since the turn of the year.
Liverpool and Manchester United were linked with a move for Donyell Malen in January. It remains to be seen what the Netherlands international's potential destination could be if he does leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer. Malen still has more than two years left on his current contract with BVB.
