Report: Brighton & Hove Albion among clubs scouting Borussia Dortmund youngster Charles Herrmann
Highly rated Borussia Dortmund winger Charles Herrmann is said to be attracting the interest of number of clubs, including Brighton & Hove Albion.
Charles Herrmann enjoyed an impressive FIFA U-17 World Cup campaign with Germany, before an injury forced him to miss the semifinals and final. With his contract expiring at the end of the season, the 18 year old has reportedly already received enquiries from a number of clubs in Germany, England and Spain.
This is being reported by Sky Sport, who claim that Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion are among the clubs keeping tabs on Herrmann. The report adds that Borussia Dortmund would like to extend Herrmann's contract and talks over an extension have already taken place. But a final decision has not yet been made, although further talks between the two parties are said to be planned.
Herrmann's aim is to play first-team football next season, but it currently remains to be seen if that would be possible at Borussia Dortmund. He has made a total of 16 appearances for the BVB U-19s so far this season, and has two goals and one assist to his name.
Reports have also claimed in recent days that Borussia Dortmund are keen to extend the contracts of Paris Brunner, Cole Campbell and Kjell Wätjen. Their current contracts are set to expire at the end of next season. BVB also completed the signings of highly rated U-17 trio Luca Reggiani (Sassuolo), Thierry Fidjeu-Tazemeta (St. Polten), and Taycan Etcibasi (Schalke 04) last month.
