Gio Reyna could be a candidate for a loan move away from Borussia Dortmund in January amid his lack of playing time in recent months.

Things have not gone according to plan for Gio Reyna so far this season, as he has been limited to just ten appearances across all competitions and 301 minutes of playing time. There has been plenty of speculation regarding the 21 year old's future in recent weeks, with several voices in the United States calling for him to leave Borussia Dortmund in search for more playing time.

According to Sky Sport, Reyna would like to play more and a loan move away from Borussia Dortmund could be a possibility as early as the January transfer window. However, there are no signs at the moment that the BVB bosses will look to sell the USMNT international anytime soon.

Reyna's future could also depend on Donyell Malen, with the Dutch forward apparently looking to leave Borussia Dortmund in January after a difficult first half of the season. Edin Terzic will no doubt be keen to ensure that he does not weaken the BVB attack too much in the middle of the campaign.

Gio Reyna has shown glimpses of his quality during his sporadic appearances for BVB this season. And he has also been in excellent goalscoring form for the United States. But Reyna's contract with Borussia Dortmund is set to expire at the end of next season, and it will be interesting to see what the future holds for him.
