Sebastian Kehl slams arrogant Borussia Dortmund performance against Wolfsburg
By Tushar Bahl
Sebastian Kehl was critical of Borussia Dortmund's performance against Wolfsburg, and said that they played in a very arrogant manner.
Borussia Dortmund dropped crucial points in the Bundesliga top four race on Saturday as they played out a 1-1 draw against Wolfsburg. It was another underwhelming performance from the Black and Yellows, who once again failed to create much in terms of chances.
Borussia Dortmund were somewhat lucky to come away with a point in the end, as Wolfsburg failed to make the most of their chances. And Sebastian Kehl did not mince his words when describing BVB's performance.
"You have to criticise the team for not controlling the game in many phases today and for playing in an arrogant manner," the BVB sporting director told Sky Sport. "We let the game drift a bit. We didn't play a good game. We didn't do well enough to deserve the three points."
"Of course, the aim is to qualify directly for the Champions League again this year. And I believe we will achieve that in the end. But it will be a tough battle. Stuttgart are looking very stable, as are Bayern and Leverkusen. Leipzig will of course also stay in the hunt."
The draw leaves Borussia Dortmund just one point clear of fifth placed RB Leipzig, who claimed a 2-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday evening.
Another tough away game awaits Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday as they travel to the Netherlands to take on PSV Eindhoven in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie. Edin Terzic's side will need to deliver a much improved performance if they are to overcome the test of the in-form Dutch giants.
