"Sometimes you have to suffer to learn" - Nuri Sahin on Borussia Dortmund's comeback win over Bochum

Nuri Sahin feels that Borussia Dortmund's struggles in their 4-2 win over VfL Bochum are part of their learning curve.
Borussia Dortmund narrowly avoided a big upset on Friday evening as they came from two goals down to claim a stunning 4-2 win over VfL Bochum in the Bundesliga. The Black and Yellows were hampered by a number of big defensive errors in the first-half and fell two goals behind.
But an inspired peformance from Serhou Guirassy helped BVB turn things around and secure the win in this 'mini Revierderby' clash. Emre Can and Felix Nmecha were also on target for Borussia Dortmund.

For Nuri Sahin, the win was a deserved one. But he also felt that Borussia Dortmund were outnumbered in defence time and again in the first-half, and they were lucky that Bochum didn't add a third goal (with Myron Boadu missing a golden opportunity), otherwise it could have easily been game over.
"I had the feeling that we had actually made a very good start to the game. Then came the blow, and then the second goal from an unforced error. If we'd conceded a third goal, we would've had a huge problem. Sometimes you need to suffer in order to learn," Sahin told DAZN.
The Borussia Dortmund head coach is determined to address these issues in the coming days and prepare for the challenges that lie in store. "That was our seventh competitive game together and you learn with every game. There are many issues we need to work on. You can be sure that we will address everything very clearly."
Nuri Sahin will certainly hope to see a better defensive performance from his side when they face Celtic in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday evening. The Scottish giants have made a strong start to the season and began their CL campaign with a 5-1 win over Slovan Bratislava.
