Borussia Dortmund managed to survive a massive scare at home to VfL Bochum as a brace from Serhou Guirassy helped them come from two goals down and win 4-2.

In the end, Borussia Dortmund were able to claim the three points rather comfortably in their 'mini Revierderby' clash against VfL Bochum. But for a long time, things looked very bleak for Nuri Sahin's side. Serhou Guirassy came up with two vital goals to fire the Black and Yellows to victory. Emre Can and Felix Nmecha were also on target as BVB overturned a two goal defecit against Bochum.

Looking to put their nightmarish 5-1 defeat to VfB Stuttgart behind them, Borussia Dortmund started on the front foot and looked lively in the early stages. But they weren’t able to create any real chances, and Bochum pounced on a lapse in concentration with Matus Bero opening the scoring in the 16th minute.

Things went from bad to worse five minutes later, as a poor pass from Nico Schlotterbeck resulted in Gregor Kobel gifting the ball away under pressure from Myron Boadu, allowing Dani de Wit to make it 2-0. Boadu had a golden opportunity to then make it 3-0 in the 33rd minute but failed to find the target after going through on goal.

Five minutes later, it was Borussia Dortmund’s turn to miss a big chance. Julian Brandt was played in by a sublime through ball by Guirassy but fired his shot over the bar.

Brandt then turned provider for Guirassy who made no mistake with his header in the 44th minute to halve the deficit.

Guirassy was also heavily involved in the equaliser as he was fouled by former Borussia Dortmund player Felix Passlack inside the box. Emre Can did the rest to make it 2-2 at the hour mark.

Adeyemi then set up Guirassy for the goal that completed Borussia Dortmund’s comeback in the 75th minute, with the striker making no mistake after being played clear by a defence splitting pass.

Felix Nmecha made sure of the three points in the 80th minute. Although the goal had a fair bit of good fortune surrounding it as the Bochum goalkeeper spilled the ball and let it through.

Borussia Dortmund celebrated the three points, avoiding a massive scare against a Bochum side that has yet to win a game this season. Next up for BVB is another home game as they take on Celtic in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
