La Liga side Real Betis must improve their offer if they want to sign Youssoufa Moukoko from Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Youssoufa Moukoko has an agreement in place with Real Betis on personal terms. But the transfer is by no means a done deal, with BILD claiming that their current offer is significantly lower than Borussia Dortmund's asking price. If they fail to up their bid, the transfer could fall through.
Real Betis must improve bid to sign Youssoufa Moukoko
The BVB bosses are keen to sell Moukoko before the transfer window closes. But they want to ensure that they get a suitable fee for the highly rated striker, who is determined to leave the club due to frustrations over his lack of playing time.
Any potential deal could be structured as an initial loan with an obligation to make the signing permanent for a fee of around 15-20 million euros. Whether Real Betis or any other clubs will meet Borussia Dortmund's demands remains to be seen. The 19 year old still has two years left on his current contract.
Nottingham Forest are also said to be keen on a move for Moukoko, but Real Betis currently hold the most concrete interest. Marseille also wanted to sign Moukoko but the move collapsed after they failed to meet BVB's asking price.
Borussia Dortmund head coach Nuri Sahin left Moukoko out of the squad for the season opening DFB-Pokal first round tie against Phönix Lübeck last weekend. He faces more time out of the matchday squad this season if a solution regarding his future cannot be found in the next two weeks.
Youssoufa Moukoko finds himself behind Serhou Guirassy, Maximilian Beier, and Sebastien Haller in the pecking order for strikers at Borussia Dortmund.
