Highly rated Borussia Dortmund forward Paris Brunner is on his way to AS Monaco and will join the French giants for a fee in the region of 3 million euros plus add-ons.

Paris Brunner is set to leave Borussia Dortmund and will join French side AS Monaco before initially moving to Cercle Brugge on loan for the upcoming campaign. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Black and Yellows will receive a fee of around 3 million euros plus bonuses from the 18 year old's sale.

Regarded as one of the most talented young players in Germany, Brunner played a vital role in helping the U-17s national team win the World Cup and the European Championship last year. He also showcased glimpses of his quality during pre-season with Borussia Dortmund, but is now set for a permanent move away from the club.

Paris Brunner to leave Borussia Dortmund after months of complicated contract negotiations

Borussia Dortmund were keen to extend Brunner's contract, which is due to expire next year. But after months of negotiations, an agreement could not be reached. AS Monaco swooped in, and will now sign the forward for a cut-price fee.

While Brunner will leave Borussia Dortmund without making a competitive first-team appearance for the club, he did showcase his potential with the U-17s and U-19s teams. He scored 26 goals and assisted a further ten in 42 appearances for the BVB U-19s.

Brunner will now hope to continue his development and establish himself as a first-team player at AS Monaco. First up, though, will be a loan spell to Belgian side Cercle Brugge, where he will likely get regular playing time.
