Two of last season's top five will look horns this weekend as VfB Stuttgart and Borussia Dortmund square off in the Bundesliga.

A mouth-watering contest awaits as Borussia Dortmund make the trip to the MHP Arena on Sunday to take on VfB Stuttgart. The in-form Black and Yellows will look to keep their run going this weekend. But Sebastian Hoeneß will have his sights set on a fourth straight win over BVB.

Stuttgart fell narrowly short against Real Madrid earlier this week in the UEFA Champions League, and have been let down by their defensive blunders this season. But they have shown glimpses of their quality, especially in attack, on a number of occasions despite losing three key players during the summer transfer window.

Serhou Guirassy and Waldemar Anton will also return to VfB Stuttgart for the first time since joining Borussia Dortmund this summer, adding further spice to what promises to be a captivating contest. The former opened his goalscoring account for BVB earlier this week, and will hope to come back to haunt his former club on Sunday.

Also key for Nuri Sahin's side will be Karim Adeyemi and Jamie Gittens, two players in excellent form at the moment.

VfB Stuttgart vs Borussia Dortmund: Team News

VfB Stuttgart have a number of game-changers in their ranks, including Deniz Undav, who has scored in each of their last two games. His strike partner Ermedin Demirovic also has a decent record against Borussia Dortmund, with three goals to his name in seven appearances against them during his time at Augsburg and Freiburg.

Borussia Dortmund will again be without Gio Reyna on Sunday, but the rest of the first-team squad should be available for selection. Sahin could once again look to rotate his team following Wednesday's win over Club Brugge.

Niklas Süle could be in line for a breather, while Yan Couto will hope to make his first start for the club. Jamie Gittens is another player who will be pushing to play from the start.

Stuttgart have a few injury concerns ahead of the game, and will be without Leonidas Stergiou, Justin  Diehl, and Nikolas Nartey. Dan-Axel Zagadou will hope to play from the start against his former club.
