Borussia Dortmund striker Niclas Füllkrug could be on his way to the English Premier League, with West Ham United reportedly advancing in talks for his signature.
Niclas Füllkrug has emerged as West Ham's top striker target, and the Germany international is keen on a move to the club. Borussia Dortmund would like to keep Füllkrug, but could be willing to part ways with him for a fee in the region of 25-30 million euros.
West Ham hoping to secure Niclas Füllkrug transfer soon
According to the Athletic, Borussia Dortmund have rejected a bid of around 20 million euros from West Ham. But the two parties remain in talks, and West Ham are hopeful of completing the transfer soon. Sky Sports in the United Kingdom claim that an agreement between the Black and Yellows and West Ham is close to being reached.
Füllkrug was Borussia Dortmund's first-choice striker last season, and his performances were crucial towards the club's run to the UEFA Champions League final. But he was facing a spot on the bench this season following BVB's decision to sign Serhou Guirassy from VfB Stuttgart. This led to his future becoming uncertain.
Atletico Madrid and AC Milan are also said to be interested in signing Füllkrug. But at the moment, it seems that a move to West Ham United is the likeliest outcome.
Niclas Füllkrug only joined Borussia Dortmund last summer, but is already facing a move away from the club. It remains to be seen what the potential sale of 31 year old could mean for the futures of Youssoufa Moukoko and Sebastien Haller, who are both free to leave the club.
