Nuri Sahin is expected to include the highly rated trio of Paris Brunner, Cole Campbell, and Almugera Kabar in the Borussia Dortmund first-team squad for pre-season.
The start of pre-season is almost upon us, and the Borussia Dortmund first-team players not involved at Euro 2024 and Copa America will begin preparations for the new campaign next week. Newly appointed head coach Nuri Sahin will look to put his players through their paces to get them ready for what promises to be a crucial season for the Black and Yellows.
According to Ruhr Nachrichten, three young players are set to train with the first-team during pre-season. The newspaper claims that Paris Brunner, Cole Campbell, and Almugera Kabar will get the opportunity to make an impression on the BVB bosses in the coming weeks.
Brunner is regarded as one of the most excited young strikers in Germany and won the best player award at the U-17 World Cup last year. Kabar was also part of the Germany U-17s squad that won the tournament in Indonesia. While Campbell is also coming off an impressive campaign with the Borussia Dortmund U-19s.
In addition, Kjell Wätjen and Filippo Mane are also expected to be a part of the extended Borussia Dortmund first-team squad in the coming campaign.
The long-term futures of Brunner and Kabar remain uncertain. Borussia Dortmund are in negotiations to extend the former’s contract, but a resolution has not been found as of yet. The latter, meanwhile, has been linked with the likes of Chelsea and FC Barcelona in recent weeks.
Borussia Dortmund will begin their preparations for the new season on July 10, before traveling to Thailand and Japan for a pre-season tour.
