German football fans are known to whip up an electric atmosphere at their stadiums, with bacchanalic fans thronging every seat and giant, colorful tifos covering entire grandstands.

Borussia Dortmund especially, have earned a reputation for having the most passionate fans who show up in big numbers and set up a visually overwhelming tone for the visiting teams.

Serhou Guirassy recently shared his experience of playing in these stadiums with Bundesliga - the DFL Magazine, after having plied his trade with FC Koln, VfB Stuttgart and now Dortmund.

""In Cologne, there were 50,000 fans at every match – it was incredible. Stuttgart was brilliant, too. And Dortmund has one of the best crowds in the world. You really have to realize just how lucky you are to have played for clubs like that. One day I’ll be able to say I’ve played at Signal Iduna Park, the MHP Arena and the RheinEnergie-Stadion.""
said the Guinean in a recent interview

Guirassy's first exposure to Bundesliga came with Koln in 2016, where he played for three years before moving back to France. Stuttgart then brought him back to Germany in 2022, initially on loan, where after impressing for two years, the BVB priced him away to Signal Iduna Park in 2024.

The 30-year-old compared the stadium atmosphere to that in France and admitted it's more impressive in the German Bundesliga.

""These are stadiums that everyone knows. That naturally makes me proud. Especially when I compare it to France – there’s a huge difference in terms of atmosphere. The atmosphere in these stadiums here is truly impressive.""
added Guirassy

Over the last two years, the striker has become the face of Dortmund with his blistering exploits, making him a vital figure in the squad with 60 goals from 96 games. He further revealed that scoring in front of the famous Yellow Wall is an indescribable experience; one that gets adrenaline pumping.

""You have to play for Borussia Dortmund to understand that feeling. As a BVB player, scoring in front of the South Stand – the Yellow Wall – is always a very emotional experience. Scoring goals here gives you a real adrenaline rush.""
said Guirassy

Guirassy is close to hitting the 100-goal mark in the Bundesliga. With six for Koln, 39 for Stuttgart and 38 for Dortmund, he's currently on 83 in the competition and needs only 17 more to hit the milestone next season.
