Borussia Dortmund star Serhou Guirassy continued his fine run of form in the 2026-27 season with two goals in their 3-2 win over Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League.
He opened his account for the night in the 80th minute, tapping home a Fabio Silva ball across the face of the goal before converting a penalty that he himself won, five minutes later.
In four games this term, the Guinean ace now has four goals. Here are some incredible stats after his latest exploits:
1) Centurion Guirassy
Guirassy's appearance on Tuesday was his 100th in official games for Dortmund in all competitions, becoming just the 153rd player in their history achieve the milestone. Incredibly, he's missed only seven games for the club since joining in 2024, including two when he was on the bench but wasn't subbed in. Also, the Guinean ace has played in every single Champions League match for the BVB since his move, now clocking 25 caps in the competition with them.
2) Guirassy storms ahead of Lewandowski
With his two goals last night, Guirassy has raced ahead of Dortmund's goalscoring great Robert Lewandowski in their all-time Champions League goals chart. He now has 19 to his name in the competition with the Black and Yellow, whilst the Pole netted 17 times during his four-year spell at the club. Only Marco Reus now stands ahead of Guirassy on the list with 24 goals, a figure Guirassy can surpass by the end of the current campaign if he's able to sustain his barnstorming run.
3) King of Champions League?
Since the 2024-25 season, Serhou Guirassy has been directly involved in 28 goals from 25 games in the UEFA Champions League for Borussia Dortmund. Former BVB star Erling Haaland is the only player to have had more contribution in the competition during this run. In addition to his 19-goal tally, the Guinean international has also weighed in with nine assists.
4) Goals No.63 and 64 for Dortmund
His brace against Villarreal brought his all-time BVB tally for goals to 64 now. That's an average of 0.64 goals per game. Although he still has a long way to go before matching Adi Preissler's record of 179 goals for the club, Guirassy is steadily climbing up the rankings and now stands at 21 in their all-time record. He need just five more to match current managing director Lars Ricken's tally of 69 and another 22 to draw level with Haaland (86).
5) He loves Villarreal
Interestingly, this isn't the first time that Guirassy has scored against Villarreal. When the clubs met in the League Phase of 2025-26 UEFA Champions League season, the BVB routed the Spanish giants 4-0 in Dortmund with Guirassy bagging a brace. As destiny would have it, the Guinean ace struck another double last night as the sides renewed hostilities.
