Despite scoring yet another match-winner, Serhou Guirassy believes that both him and Borussia Dortmund have plenty of room for improvement.
Serhou Guirassy continued his stunning goalscoring form on Friday evening, making it 12 goals for club and country in just nine appearances this season. The towering striker, who joined Borussia Dortmund from VfB Stuttgart in the summer, got on the end of Jamie Gittens' cross and headed it home in the 83rd minute to secure the three points for his side.
Serhou Guirassy has seven goals in seven games for Borussia Dortmund
Guirassy has been scoring goals for fun since joining Borussia Dortmund. But he feels that there is some room for improvement in terms of chance conversion for both him and his teammates. "It was a tough game. We're happy, but of course we have to see what we can do better. But the most important thing was the three points," Guirassy told ESPN+ after the game.
"In front of goal, we had two or three chances where we had to do better. But not only me, the entire team, with defence, all these things we have to do better. The win is important, but we can't forget these things."
Before his match-winning goal, Guirassy had a couple of other opportunities to score but was denied by St. Pauli goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj. Julian Brandt and Donyell Malen also missed good chances to score for Nuri Sahin's side.
The 28 year old will be determined to continue his excellent goalscoring run on Tuesday as Borussia Dortmund take on Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Serhou Guirassy has three goals in two CL games this season, and he will be eager to show on the big stage at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium just why he is regarded as one of the top strikers in the Bundesliga.
