"Should've scored a few more goals" - Fans react as Dortmund thump HEBC 5-0 in the DFB-Pokal first round

Borussia Dortmund began their 2026-27 DFB-Pokal campaign with a convincing 5-0 win over Hamburg-Eimsbütteler BC on Tuesday.

Niko Kovac made wholesale changes to his side from their weekend triumph over Hamburger SV in the Bundesliga but the BVB had no issues dispatching the fifth-tier minnows.

An own goal from Janek Wrede in the 33rd minute got the ball rolling for the visitors, who piled on the misery as Daniel Svensson and Samuele Inacio (2) also got into action.

Leading 4-0 at half-time, Dortmund were comfortably cruising through the match but added one more after the break through Fabio Silva.
