Borussia Dortmund pegged Bayern Munich back in a 2-2 draw on Saturday as the Bundesliga giants played out a pulsating Der Klassiker at the Allianz Arena.

Fabio Silva rescued a point for the BVB with an 89th-minute equalizer to keep the side's unbeaten run in the new season going.

The rivals remains locked at 18 points each from eight games, although the Bavarians continue to take up the top spot in the league standings by virtue of goal-difference.

Konrad Laimer fired the home side in front just moments after Jobe Bellingham's strike for Dortmund was ruled out, while Harry Kane missed a penalty early into the second half.

Serhou Guirassy then restored parity for the Black and Yellow in the 60th minute but Dayot Upamecano put Bayern in front again, six minutes later.

With just a minute of normal time remaining, Silva popped up with a crucial goal to bring Dortmund level again and claim a vital point in the title race.

Fans were truly surprised by the result and took to X to hail Niko Kovac's team for their encouraging fighting spirit. Here are some of the best reactions:

One X user tweeted:

"Good game; finally got rewarded again."

One Dortmund fan page noted that a defensive shift helped their cause:

"Finally tried a back four—and got rewarded immediately."

This BVB fan reserved special praise for Joane Gadou:

"Joane Gadou is the best center-back in the league!😍😍"

One supporter felt Dortmund got lucky but still praised their character on the night:

"Given the second half, it’s a rather fortunate point—we have to be honest about that.
The xG stats speak for themselves. The first half was really strong; in the second, we couldn’t really hold our own anymore—but hats off to the team’s fighting spirit."

Another fan wrote:

"I felt something again. Despite the luck, it feels somewhat deserved."

One X user commended Dortmund's performance:

"A bit of luck, but all in all a solid performance."

Another fan commented on the game of two halves:

"That was so well-deserved. Finally, a really good game again. We eased off a bit in the second half, unfortunately, but we should definitely build on that first-half performance."

One X user, however, gave a rather harsh assessment:

"Embarrassing. 4.85 to 0.7 xG, yet here you are celebrating a draw as if you’d just won the league title. And that’s despite three Bayern players getting injured and the referee handing you a few little favors along the way. Nothing is more embarrassing than little BVB."
