Borussia Dortmund beat Eintracht Frankfurt 3-2 in the Bundesliga on Sunday to secure runners-up spot.

The BVB fell behind after only 78 seconds into the kick-off, but recovered towards the end of the opening stanza with goals from Serhou Guirassy and Nico Schlotterbeck.

Samuele Inacio then added a third after the break to consolidate their grip on the game, while Jonathan Burkardt pulled one back for the Eagles in the 87th minute for some late drama.

Frankfurt saw a silver lining there, but fell short of finding a third goal as Dortmund held out for the remainder of the match to seal all three points as well as the second place on the table.

Here are some interesting stats from the clash:

5th consecutive home win

Dortmund recorded their fifth home win over Frankfurt on the bounce, one of their best runs at the Signal Iduna Park against a side in the Bundesliga right now.

Worrying winless run

With a loss on Friday, Eintracht Frankfurt's winless run in the league was extended to four games which signals a drop in form.

It's also the second time this season that the Eagles have endured such a long stretch of games without a victory, having gone seven games in a row without a win from December 2025 to February 2026.

Frankfurt, favorite opponents

Dortmund beat Frankfurt for the 52nd time in history, more than any other side in the Bundesliga. That makes the Eagles their favorite opponents to play against in the competition.

Assist king Ryerson back to business

Julian Ryerson bagged yet another assist, with the Norwegian international laying it off for Serhou Guirassy to net the equalizer. That makes it 14th league assist of the season for him, and he's only a full-back!

The only player to have made more assists in a single top-flight campaign for Borussia Dortmund was Jadon Sancho (16) in 2018-19 season.

Schlotterbeck, a prolific defender

Nico Schlotterbeck has made it a point to score goals this season, and he's now done it five times in the Bundesliga. No other defender in the German top-flight has managed as much as him, making him the most prolific of them all.

Inacio off the mark

Borussia Dortmund teenager Samuele Inacio scored his first Bundesliga goal of the season last night in his sixth appearance, making him one of the youngest Italians ever to score in the competition.

More to come next season!
