Borussia Dortmund return from the international break this weekend as the side gears up for its last few games before closing the 2025-26 Bundesliga campaign.

With leaders Bayern Munich still nine points ahead, the prospect of seeing the Black and Yellows being crowned champions is diminishing with every passing week.

Qualifying for the Champions League remains their last objective but the road ahead looks tricky with a few challenging oppositions coming up this month.

Here are Dortmund's league fixtures for April:

VfB Stuttgart vs Dortmund, 4 April

It's third versus the second in the Bundesliga this weekend as the sides resume club duties following the international break. And this one promises to be a cracker too!

The fixture has produced some intense clashes in recent times with goals galore. In fact, the last one alone produced six with three strikes for each side.

But worryingly for the BVB, they haven't beaten Stuttgart since October 2022, a run stretching to seven games in all competitions now while also losing on their last three visits there.

Dortmund vs Leverkusen, 11 April

Another potential banana skin, Bayer Leverkusen come to town the next weekend and that one too promises to be worth looking forward to as Die Werkself are gunning for European places.

Currently in sixth, Leverkusen are unbeaten in their last five games - they even held Bayern to a 1-1 draw last month - while losing just once from their last 10 top-flight matches.

Hoffenheim vs Dortmund, 18 April

Another side from the top six that Dortmund are scheduled to play this month is Hoffenheim, who are are just above Leverkusen in fifth and trailing RB Leipzig only by virtue of goal-difference.

Die Kraichgauer too have Champions League ambitions but have appeared to lose steam lately with a pair of losses to Bayern and St. Pauli, interspersed between a draw with FC Koln.

Dortmund vs Freiburg, 26 April

The lowest ranked side in the Bundesliga that Dortmund face this month is still eighth, as Freiburg have a balanced record of 10 wins and losses each from 27 games so far in the league this season.

Since February though, Breisgau-Brasilianer have won just thrice from eight games, and Dortmund will be looking to capitalize on their struggles to avenge a 1-1 draw in their first top-flight meeting.

All four fixtures look tough on paper and Dortmund will have to tighten up their screws or risk dropping down the table.
