Borussia Dortmund have announced their lineup to face Arsenal in the Emirates Cup game today and the club supporters couldn't contain their excitement upon seeing Konstantinos Karetsas starting it.

The Greek international completed a high-profile move from Belgian Pro League side Genk last week in a transfer worth 30 million euros, making him the club's second most expensive in history.

Now in line to make his first appearance for Dortmund, head coach Niko Kovac has deployed Karetsas, an attacking midfielder by trade, alongside Samuele Inacio behind lone striker Fabio Silva.

Alexander Meyer has been reinstated in goal after Patrick Drewes replaced him last time out while Ramy Bensebaini starts for the first time this preseason.

New signing Joane Gadou and Filippo Mane join the Algerian in a three-man defense while Newcastle United-target Felix Nmecha dons the captain's armband.

The BVB faithful took to X to express their thoughts on the lineup and here are some of the best reactions:

An X user by the name Florian feels this XI could play well:

""You can play soccer with this 11.""

Another fan reacted to Maximilian Beier starting out wide as the full-back once again:

"He’s really going through with playing Beier out wide...""

Another X user felt this starting lineup could be seen more often in the upcoming season

""That's already almost a starting lineup that one could also expect in competitive matches.""

This fan is looking to seeing both Karetsas and Beier on the right:

""Beier and Karetsas together on the right flank—I'm curious to see how that goes.""

However, one fan didn't appear convinced and felt this could be a drag:

""Can anyone tell me how many milligrams of caffeine it's safe to consume? I'd hate to miss the only goal-scoring opportunity of the entire match.""

One fan sounded upbeat upon seeing Karetsas make his BVB debut:

""Karetsas is starting—we're back.""

One user pointed out one big flaw in the XI:

""Besides Plan B—El Mala—we also need a replacement for Couto...""

This fan overwhelmed with joy to see Karetsas make his debut at last:

""Karetsas's ball… I think I'm almost crying tears of joy 🥺""

Another X user tweeted:

""Nmecha Kapitän 😍😍😍""

Another X who felt this could be Kovac's preferred XI but with just one change:

""Looks like the starting XI, and with Silva instead of Guirassy… interesting.""

One more X user who praised the lineup:

""Very good lineup""
