Borussia Dortmund star Felix Nmecha has lauded teammate Jobe Bellingham as a player of 'great potential' while admitting they have an excellent working partnership on the field too.
The young and dynamic midfield duo forged a key partnership for the BVB last season and boasted a 61.9% win rate when starting together.
While Nmecha led the squad in terms of passing with 1,390 last season, Bellingham was right behind him on the list with 1,348.
The duo are unstoppable in duels too as Nmecha won 162 last term whereas Bellingham was once again hot on his coattails 159.
In his first interview since rejoining the squad after World Cup shenanigans, Nmecha hailed his midfield partner for enduring difficult times at first but then acclimatizing to life in a new country.
On Sky Sports Germany, he was asked about Bellingham to which he responded by saying:
""He has huge potential, and you could see last season just how much progress he’s made. Of course, it wasn’t easy at first, but that’s normal when you’re playing in a completely different country and a new league.""
Bellingham joined Dortmund from Sunderland last season, following into the footsteps of his older brother Jude Bellingham, and made 45 appearances in all competitions to emerge among the key figures in head coach Niko Kovac's tactical systems. While he didn't score, the Englishman bagged three assists in all competitions.
As for Nmecha, the German maestro scored five times in the 2025-26 season - just one less from the previous campaign - while making another three assists from 42 games as he continues to grow in influence on the side since joining from Wolfsburg in 2023.
The 25-year-old hailed Bellingham for the progress he's shown over the course of last one year and expressed delight at having formed an excellent working relationship with him on the field at Borussia Dortmund.

Both players are currently in Japan for the BVB Evonik Japan Tour of their preseason. But while Bellingham was in action against Cerezo Osaka on Wednesday, Nmecha was handed a rest as he and some other World Cup returnees were excluded from the matchday squad.
However, managing director Lars Ricken has revealed they would all feature in their next game which is against FC Tokyo in the Japanese capital on Saturday, 1 August as Dortmund wrap-up their tour and return to Europe thereafter.
