Borussia Dortmund manager Niko Kovac has offered an update on the team news ahead of their Bundesliga home game to Augsburg.
The BVB welcome the Fuggerstadter to Signal Iduna Park on Saturday as they aim to consolidate their position in second place on the Bundesliga table.
After two winless games - draw to RB Leipzig and loss to Bayern Munich - Dortmund returned to winning ways with a narrow 2-1 defeat of FC Koln last weekend.
Now the side aims to continue in the same vein as they look to secure Champions League football for next season as soon as possible with a strong runners-up finish.
Two days ahead of matchday 26 in the German top-flight, Kovac has confirmed that skipper Emre Can, Ramy Bensebaini and Filippo Mane are all set to miss the Augsburg clash.
Can has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after sustaining an ACL injury during their 3-2 loss to Bayern Munich at the end of last month.
Mane has been a long-term absentee whereas Bensebaini is suspended from the clash for accumulation of yellow cards.
In light of this, Italian youngster Luca Reggiani could get a start in defense.
Kovac in his recent press conference admitted that they weren't too pleased with their performance in Koln and vowed to give everything against Augsburg.
""We weren't satisfied with our performance in Cologne. FCA come to us with 16 points in the new year. That means we're facing a team that has stabilised and will play aggressive football. We have to give it our all.""said the Croatian to the press
Serhou Guirassy fired them in front after 16 minutes into the kick-off before a red card to Jahmai Simpson-Pusey was sent off for the Billy Goats in the added minutes of the opening stanza.
At the hour mark, Maximilian Beier doubled their advantage as Dortmund appeared to have the game in the bag, although Jakub Kaminski's late strike for Koln set-up a nervous finale.
The visitors then held out for the remainder of the game to claim all three points and registered their first win in four games across all competitions.
Although they boast a stronger record to Augsburg, Dortmund must be wary of their recent surge, especially on the road as the Bavarian outfit won't make it easy for them.
Many of Dortmund's league wins of late have been unconvincing of late, winning by just one goal margin and relying on some late winners to get them through.
