"Weak and devoid of ideas" - Fans tear into Borussia Dortmund after their 1-0 loss to Cerezo Osaka

For the second preseason game in a row, Borussia Dortmund were defeated - this time by Cerezo Osaka in their first match of the BVB Evonik Japan Tour on Wednesday.

An eighth-minute goal from Solomon Sakuragawa was enough to down a toothless Black and Yellow side who had also lost 2-1 to Fortuna Dusseldorf in their last friendly game.

Head coach Niko Kovac made 10 changes in the game but none of the substitutions could inspire a second-half comeback as their preseason campaign was dealt another setback.

Frustrated with a lackluster display, fans tore into the side after the match. Here are some of the best fan reactions to Dortmund's loss, on X:

One user by the name Kadeo wrote:

Another user called Jannis lambasted Kovac for his tactical limits as he tweeted:

""How on earth can they stick with a coach for so long who is obviously extremely limited tactically? Under Kovac, there won't be any development—not even in 20 years. Last season was more luck than judgment, but the board is letting itself be blinded, of course.""

The sentiment was echoed by another X user who prophesized more 'bad' days under Kovac ahead:

Another user was disappointed to see the young guns not taking their chances to prove their value to the side:
