Borussia Dortmund beat Real Betis 2-1 in their Champions League clash on Wednesday as Fabio Silva and Konstantinos Karetsas net second-half goals to seal all three points.

In what was their first official meeting, Dortmund and Betis played out a tense but goalless first half. Silva then boke the deadlock for the BVB just minutes into the second period with a close-range finish.

Aitor Ruibal restored parity for Betis in the 67th minute, but Karetsas made it 2-1 just five minutes later and it eventually proved enough to seal all three points for Dortmund.

With nine points in four games, Niko Kovac's side climbed up to 12th place in the League Phase standings, boosting their progression hopes.

Fans were delighted to see Dortmund pick up another important win and made their thoughts known on X. Here are some of the best reactions:

One X user was in awe of Karetsas:

"Man, that's so important

I love Karetsas"

One self-proclaimed BVB fan felt it could've been a goalfest for the Black and Yellow:

"It was a good game. If the keeper hadn’t made some incredible saves, the score would have been higher. Thoroughly deserved!"

The sentiment was echoed by another Dortmund supporter:

"A well-deserved win. Our conversion of chances wasn’t great today—otherwise, we could have put the game to bed much earlier—but all in all, we can be satisfied. I’m especially happy for Silva, who contributed two goal involvements, and for Karetsas; I hope this gives him a boost."

One X user named their best players from the match:

"You need a full squad; players like Silva, Karetsas, Delias, and Veermann have exactly the kind of ability on the ball that’s required! I believe these four—along with Schlotti, Anton, and Kobel—are our best players."

Another fan wrote:

"Karetsas and Silva are just wow🔥"

Fabio Silva deservedly drew a lot of praise from the fans, such as this one wrote:

"Silva, best player, great game, it was fun to watch."

Another X user that was content with the outcome:

"A very important win in the end. We really should have scored more goals, but the main thing is that we got the victory. Let’s keep going—onwards, Borussia!"

One verified X user called Ragux noted a facinating statistic involving BVB coach, Niko Kovac:

"As coach of BVB, Niko Kovač has secured 5 wins out of 5 matches against Spanish teams at Signal Iduna Park."
