Maximilian Beier came off the bench to score the winner for Borussia Dortmund in their 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

The German was teed up by Jobe Bellingham on the left, firing a confident strike into the far corner to put Dortmund in front with only 10 minutes of normal time remaining.

It was his second goal of the Bundesliga season, having previously netted a late winner in their 1-0 defeat of VfB Stuttgart last month too.

The player doesn't often score, but makes it a point to net in games where it's really needed, demonstrating his value in the side during high-pressure moments.

Dortmund supporters hailed the 24-year-old on X for his latest show of heroics. Here are some of the best reaction:

One X user called Ezequiel Tejeda said:

"What a brilliant goal from Maximilian Beier—a strike reminiscent of his time at Hoffenheim. He combined on the left flank with Jobe Bellingham—who made a great contribution in his very first involvement—before making a run to receive the return pass and unleashing a spectacular, well-placed shot.

This is Beier: a player who needs to start from the left but be granted the freedom to roam—rather than staying pinned to one spot—so he can make these kinds of decisions and find the optimal position to shoot. Cutting in from the left.

Dortmund is now winning a match that had been heading toward a 0–0 draw. Individual brilliance is bailing Kovač out."

A fan page dedicated to Dortmund drew parallels to Beier's winner at this time last year too:

"October 25th 2025: Maxi Beier scores a last gasp winner against Köln on a Saturday to win 1:0 at home.

October 24th 2026: Maxi Beier scores a late winner against Frankfurt on a Saturday to win 1:0 at home.

Real life is often more beautiful than fiction."

One verified X user called Dionysos Gerke felt Beier deserved to be in Germany's national team:

"With his goal in the 80th minute, Maximilian Beyer proved to Jürgen Klopp that he deserved to be called up. The lad has a formidable shooting technique."

Another fan wrote:

"I love you very much Maximilian Beier"

USA Sports hailed Beier's goal a 'beauty':

"Maximilian Beier with a BEAUTY from the edge of the box 😮‍💨

This fan wished he'd be played more centrally:

"That goal from Maxi today was really impressive.
As much as I’d love to see him play more as a forward alongside Silva or Guirassy, under Kovač he unfortunately has to feature regularly as a wing-back."

This user also questioned Beier starting on the bench last night:

"Maximilian Beier with a brilliant finish for Borussia Dortmund against Eintracht Frankfurt to win the game. Don’t understand why he didn’t start as I think he’s been on a better level than most around him this season. Level has to improve with the Pokal and Bayern Munich to come."
