Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy had been linked with Turkish giants Fenerbahce. The rumor was already debunked by the club sporting director Nils-Ole Book earlier this month when he denied the BVB receiving any formal bid from the Istanbul outfit.
But now, his agent has also come on record to pour cold water over the links. Guirassy's Karamba, who also represents him, has confirmed to Sky Germany that reports of an agreement between the player and Fenerbahce are false.
"“No agreement has been reached. Serhou is currently exploring his options for the upcoming season. Claims of an agreement are untrue.”"he said
Borussia Dortmund are not keen to sell their most prolific marksman of the last two seasons but Ole Book has revealed that they would consider if an 'extraordinary' offer comes in.
Guirassy has a release clause of €35 million in his contract, which runs until 2028, but can apparently be triggered only by a few top clubs.
Fenerbahce might not be a 'proverbial' top side but can price him away to the Turkish capital if they are willing to pay €40 million for him, which is the demanding price that BVB have set.
However, the Yellow Canaries have never spent so much on any player in their history. In fact, their most expensive purchase is significantly lower at €28 million, which they paid to sign Matteo Guendozi from Lazio last summer.
Plus, the idea of making such an exorbitant outlay on a player who is now in his 30s may dissuade Fenerbahce from going ahead with the transfer and might prefer to wait for a few more years to see his price go down further.
But they aren't the only ones said to be interested in Guirassy. The former Stuttgart man has garnered interest from Premier League sides Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur, as well as LaLiga giants Atletico Madrid.
Dortmund must retain Guirassy
Although his future has come under scrutiny this year, Borussia Dortmund must pull out all stops to retain Serhou Guirassy next season.
His form might have dropped in 2025-26 season compared to a barnstorming run in his debut campaign, but it still yielded a respectable 22-goal output along with six assists.
Moreover, the forward wasn't merely stat-padding; he showed up in crucial moments for the BVB to score vital goals that won them valuable points and kept them in the title race.
As the club looks forward to another strong run, Guirassy can be instrumental in their endeavors once again.
