Yan Couto is determined to become a legend at Borussia Dortmund, but also feels that he has yet to show his full potential at the club.

Borussia Dortmund bolstered their full-back ranks this past summer with the signing of Yan Couto, who arrived from Manchester City on an initial loan deal. The obligation to make the signing permanent has already been triggered, with the highly rated right-back signing a long-term contract with BVB.

Yan Couto: I want to become a legend at Borussia Dortmund

Couto is slowly adapting to life in Germany and at the Westfalenstadion. Despite a slow start, he is determined to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Dede, Evanílson, and Márcio Amoroso and become successful at Borussia Dortmund.

"There are many Brazilians who have played here. I think ten or eleven. I'm one of them. I also want to become a legend here. I'll do anything for that. The truth is that the Brazilians who have played here have always had a strong connection [with the fans] and people always remember them," Couto said in an interview with Sky Sport.

While he is aiming high, Couto also reflected on his first two months at Borussia Dortmund. And he feels that he has yet to showcase the best version of himself.

"It's just a battle against myself to train well, to play well, to work with my teammates here, to get the best out of myself. And they haven't seen the best version of me here yet. I want to show my full potential and I'm not there yet. I'm not at my best, but I want to be. If I can do that, I'll also make the national team," Couto said.
