Nothing is constant in football, not even a player's market value. Depending on their age, performances, games played and more, the market prices of footballers keep shifting; sometimes upwards and sometimes downhill.

Transfermarkt recently updated market values of Borussia Dortmund players, with six players seeing an increase and only two witnessing their values drop, although the overall value of the squad rose by 23 million euros.

BVB market value updates

Summer signing Joane Gadou has seen his value increase from 20 million euros to 28 million euros, reflecting on the impact he's had with the BVB since joining from Red Bull Salzburg this summer.

He was among their top performers during the preseason and has managed to force his way into the XI during the season proper, adapting to life rather smoothly at Dortmund.

Italian duo Samuele Inacio and Filippo Mane both saw their market values shoot, with Inacio's going up to 20 million euros from 15 million earlier, whereas Mane's value has doubled from 2.5 million euros to 5 million euros.

Another young gun whose see a positive change in his market value is Enzo Duarte, who hasn't played a single minute of their 2026-27 season for Dortmund. Following an encouraging preseason campaign with them, he was offered a long-term contract but sent to their youth team nonetheless. However, that hasn't prevent Duarte's value from going up six times from 250,000 euros to 1.5 million euros.

Mathis Albert is the Dortmund player with the highest market value increase in percentage, as the American star's stunning breakthrough into the USMNT has shot up his value from just 300,000 euros to five million euros now. That's a surge of almost 17 times of what it was earlier, reflecting his burgeoning reputation around the world.

The only two players whose values dropped were Maximilian Beier and Carney Chukwuemeka. Beier, who wasn't called up to Germany's Nations League squad by Jurgen Klopp during this international window despite a rather strong start to the season, saw his market value drop from 40 million euros to 35 million euros whereas Chukwuemeka's went down from 20 million euros to 17 million euros, having struggled for regular gametime this season.

Dortmund's most valuable player

If you were asked who could be Dortmund's most valuable player, names such as Serhou Guirassy, Julian Ryerson or Gregor Kobel are likely to come up. But after the recent update, Felix Nmecha has dwarfed everyone in the squad as his market value now stands at 65 million euros, a hefty 10 million increase from the last valuation.

He's had an eventful run since the summer, scoring and assisting once each for Germany at the 2026 FIFA World Cup while bagging a brace for Dortmund against Paderborn in the Bundesliga. He was in action for Die Mannschaft again in the current international window, even scoring the first goal of the Klopp-era in the 1-1 draw with Netherlands.
