Borussia Dortmund were informed in advance of Jadon Sancho’s England trip

Jadon Sancho may have been in London on Saturday, but Borussia Dortmund were informed well in advance of his planned trip.

Pictures emerged of Jadon Sancho attending a house party in the United Kingdom on Saturday, sending Manchester United fans and English media into frenzy. The Englishman traveled to his homeland by private jet after Borussia Dortmund’s training session on Saturday morning.

However, the trip was not an issue for those in charge at Borussia Dortmund. And Sancho wasn’t the only Dortmund player to take a private trip. All players had permission to meet with family and friends. According to Ruhr Nachrichten, the BVB bosses were informed well in advance that Sancho (and several other players of the squad) would use the one and a half day off before the start of the training camp for private trips.

The report adds that Axel Witsel, Thomas Meunier and Dan Axel Zagadou also went home to be with their families over the weekend. According to the DFL, there are no binding requirements for private travel during the training period. Players, coaches and staff are tested for coronavirus twice a week.

Borussia Dortmund are due to depart for their training camp at Bad Ragaz, Switzerland on Monday at 10 am. And unless Manchester United decide to meet the Black and Yellows’ asking price of 120 million euros, Sancho will be on that plane.

Michael Zorc said earlier this week that he expects the 20 year old to stay at Borussia Dortmund for the upcoming season. Sancho could be in line for a new deal and a pay rise if Manchester United fail to sign him this summer.
