RB Leipzig held by resilient Wolfsburg

RB Leipzig were held to a 2-2 draw by Wolfsburg in what was a topsy-turvy encounter. Julian Nagelsmann’s side took the lead in just the fifth minute through Nordi Mukiele, but Wout Weghorst continued his impressive form by scoring the equaliser for Wolfsburg. Renato Steffen then turned the game on its head, before Willi Orban scored in the second half to ensure a share of the points for Leipzig.

Late goal denies Gladbach against Stuttgart

A 90th minute penalty from Silas Wamangituka helped VfB Stuttgart earn a 2-2 draw at home to Borussia Mönchengladbach. Having beaten Bayern Munich last weekend, the Foals took the lead against Stuttgart in the first half through Lars Stindl’s penalty.

Nicolas Gonzalez then equalised for Stuttgart with an excellent diving header. But Denis Zakaria scored soon after to restore the lead for Marco Rose’s side.

Just when it looked like Gladbach would get all three points, VAR gave Stuttgart a dubious penalty, which Wamangituka converted to earn his team a draw.
