Borussia Dortmund earned a straight-forward 3-0 win when the two sides met at the Signal Iduna Park earlier in the season. The Black and Yellows dominated the game from the get go, although it did take them 55 minutes to finally get in front. It was Manuel Akanji who scored the opener, which allowed the floodgates to open up. Erling Haaland then made it 2-0 at the hour mark, before Mats Hummels added a third 12 minutes from time.
It was an impressive performance from Borussia Dortmund, who could have easily scored more goals past a hapless Schalke side.

With Schalke facing relegation, this weekend’s derby could well be the last time these two sides meet in the Bundesliga for at least the next 18 months. But the team from Gelsenkirchen will certainly not go down for the fight. And Borussia Dortmund will have to be at their best to earn the three points.
