Borussia Dortmund: Donyell Malen negotiations with PSV said to be complicated
By Tushar Bahl
Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Donyell Malen as the replacement for Jadon Sancho. But negotiations with PSV Eindhoven are apparently complicated.
Donyell Malen is Borussia Dortmund’s top target as they look to replace the outgoing Jadon Sancho. The Black and Yellows have already reached an agreement over personal terms with the Netherlands international. But negotiations with his club PSV Eindhoven are said to be complicated.
This is being reported by Ruhr Nachrichten, who add that there is still a gap between the two clubs’ valuation of Malen. PSV want a fee of 30 million euros for the 22 year old. And that asking price is more than what Borussia Dortmund are willing to spend.
PSV Eindhoven have already given Malen permission to hold talks with interested clubs. Liverpool have also been linked with a move for the former Arsenal youth team player. But Borussia Dortmund are thought to be leading the race for his signature.
Meanwhile, Jadon Sancho is set to join Manchester United for a fee of 85 million euros plus bonuses. The 20 year old has already undergone his medical but the move has not yet been made official by the two clubs. Michael Zorc told Ruhr Nachrichten on Sunday that everything has already been processed on Borussia Dortmund’s end. “From our side, all things are settled and processed. In my mind, the transfer is done.”
Zorc said on Saturday that there is a high probability that Borussia Dortmund will sign another player this summer. Donyell Malen remains the likeliest candidate. It all depends on whether the BVB bosses can reach an agreement with their PSV counterparts.
