Four players could still leave Borussia Dortmund before the transfer window slams shut next week.

The transfer window has been an eventful one for Borussia Dortmund. And it looks set to have a busy end, with a number of players being linked with moves away from the club. The Black and Yellows are also said to be looking to sign a defender before the transfer window closes. But for that to happen, they need to sell players first.

Here we take a look at the four players who could leave Borussia Dortmund before next week’s transfer deadline day and the latest rumours surrounding their futures.

Thomas Delaney

Delaney appears to be the likeliest candidate to leave Borussia Dortmund before deadline day. The midfielder is attracting interest from teams in the Premier League and the Serie A. But the hottest trail seems to lead to Sevilla. There is still a gap in the two teams’ valuations of Delaney, so it will be interesting to see whether they can reach an agreement in the coming days.

Delaney has less than one year left on his Borussia Dortmund contract. And with an extension unlikely, the BVB bosses are open to selling him this summer. The 29 year old also seems to want a new challenge with the competition for places in midfield very high in Dortmund. So the chances are good that Delaney will be leaving before the transfer window closes.

Nico Schulz

Schulz has made an encouraging start to the season in Raphael Guerreiro’s absence. But he is still free to leave the club this summer. Signed from Hoffenheim for a fee of 25 million euros in 2019, the left-back hasn’t been able to convince with his performances. BVB are willing to sell him before the end of the month. His departure would also clear the way for the arrival of Marcel Halstenberg from RB Leipzig.

But Borussia Dortmund have yet to receive an offer for Schulz. And it remains to be seen whether that will change before the transfer window closes.

Roman Bürki

Less than one year after signing a two-year contract extension, Bürki finds himself as Borussia Dortmund’s third choice goalkeeper. The Black and Yellows are desperate to sell him. And he is free to leave for a cut-price fee of five million euros. But there have not been any concrete bids for him as of yet.

Bürki still has two years left on his Borussia Dortmund contract. He is the club’s highest paid goalkeeper. And the BVB bosses will certainly want to part ways with him before the transfer window closes.

Marius Wolf

Wolf is also free to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer, but has yet to attract any real or concrete offers. The versatile wide player has made one substitute appearance so far this season. But he is low on the pecking order and is very unlikely to get much playing time if he ends up staying at the club.

Wolf has spent each of the last two seasons out on loan. And the likelihood is that he will leave again this summer. Whether that will be on loan or on a permanent transfer remains to be seen.
