Borussia Dortmund are planning a clear out in the summer transfer window, with Emre Can, Nico Schulz and Roman Bürki among those who are reportedly free to leave.

This season hasn’t gone to plan for Borussia Dortmund, and those in charge are now planning an overhaul of the squad in the summer. According to SportBILD, the BVB bosses are ready to part ways with Emre Can, Nico Schulz and Roman Bürki. While Axel Witsel will also leave when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Emre Can, who joined Borussia Dortmund from Juventus in January 2020, has struggled with injuries and inconsistent performances in recent months. But unlike Schulz and Bürki, he has been used regularly when fit.

Nico Schulz is Borussia Dortmund’s second choice left-back behind Raphael Guerreiro. He has not been able to live up to his price tag as of yet. It remains to be seen if there will be any interest in Schulz in the summer.

Borussia Dortmund have been trying to part ways with Roman Bürki for the past two transfer windows. But there has been little to no interest in the club’s former first-choice goalkeeper. He was linked with Galatasaray and Lorient towards the end of the January transfer window, but ultimately decided to stay in Dortmund.

The magazine also claims that Borussia Dortmund may be willing to sell Julian Brandt and Thorgan Hazard if they receive suitable offers. The duo joined the Black and Yellows in 2019 amid high expectations, but have failed to offer much consistency despite their Bundesliga experience.
