Report: Bayern Munich considering move for Borussia Dortmund target Nico Schlotterbeck
Borussia Dortmund could face competition from Bayern Munich for the transfer of highly rated SC Freiburg centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck.
Borussia Dortmund are leading the race for Nico Schlotterbeck, with reports claiming that they have already held talks with the German international regarding a potential summer transfer.
There have been mixed reports about Bayern’s interest in Schlotterbeck in recent weeks. It was reported recently that Bayern consider the 22 year old to be too expensive But Kicker now claim that the Bavarians are eyeing Schlotterbeck as a replacement for Niklas Süle, who will join Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer in the summer.
Schlotterbeck, who has been one of the top performers in the Bundesliga this season, appears set to leave SC Freiburg this summer. Freiburg want a fee of 25 million euros for the centre-back.
In addition to Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested in signing Schlotterbeck. But the player has spoken about his desire to stay in Germany even if he leaves Freiburg this summer.
The Black and Yellows want to sign Schlotterbeck as a potential replacement for Manuel Akanji. The Swiss international is being linked with a move to Manchester United, and the BVB bosses will look to sell him this summer if an agreement cannot be reached over a contract extension.
Kicker also claim in their latest issue that Bayern Munich could also renew their interest in Karim Adeyemi if Serge Gnabry decides against extending his contract. Adeyemi’s representatives held talks with Bayern last year, but Borussia Dortmund are said to be leading the race for his signature.
