Highly rated Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens helped England beat Israel in the final of the European Under-19 Championship on Friday.

England U-19s came from behind to beat Israel 3-1 and win the European Under-19 Championship on Friday evening. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens started for England, who fell behind in the 40th minute thanks to Oscar Gloch’s goal. But Callum Doyle scored the equaliser seven minutes after the break, before Carney Chukwuemeka and Aaron Ramsey sealed an impressive turnaround win in extra-time.

The win helped England clinch the European Under-19 Championship for the 11th time in their history. They are now the joint-most successful team in the history of the competition, alongside Spain.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens made four appearances for England over the course of the U-19s Euros, and his impact was crucial to their success. The 17 year old is coming off an excellent season with the Borussia Dortmund U-19s.

Bynoe-Gittens scored 12 goals and registered five assists in just 18 appearances, as the young Black and Yellows won the U-19 Bundesliga title and reached the UEFA Youth League quarterfinals last season. His impressive performances helped him earn his first-team debut in April. And he went on to make four first-team appearances last season.

The winger, who joined BVB from Manchester City in 2020, is considered to be one of the most promising young players at the club. And it will be exciting to see how he fares in the first-team next season.
