Marco Reus is back on the training pitch after recovering from the muscle fibre tear that he suffered on international duty last month.

Marco Reus took the next big step on his road to recovery on Tuesday morning as he completed an individual training session at Borussia Dortmund’s training ground. The Black and Yellows released a video of the 33 year old training with the ball at his feet. Reus’ impending return will be a big boost for BVB, who are preparing for the start of the new season.

The Borussia Dortmund captain suffered a thigh injury during a training session with the Germany national team last month. But now he is closing in on his return.

While Reus will not be available for Tuesday’s pre-season friendly against Lüner SV, the hope will be that he can be fully fit in time for next week’s test match against SC Verl.

The coming season is set to be a crucial one for Marco Reus, who has less than one year left on his Borussia Dortmund contract. The attacking midfielder was one of his team’s top performers last season. He will want to make a strong start to the coming season and put himself in the frame for a spot in Germany’s starting XI at the FIFA World Cup.
