Youssoufa Moukoko remains reluctant to extend his Borussia Dortmund contract, as he looks to wait and see what his prospects are at the club.

Youssoufa Moukoko’s future continues to remain uncertain, with the striker still reluctant to extend his contract. The 17 year old’s current contract with Borussia Dortmund is set to expire at the end of the season. And while the BVB bosses have offered him a contract extension, Moukoko is in no rush to make a decision on his future.

According to Sky Sport, Borussia Dortmund have offered Moukoko a new contract that would see him stay at the club until 2026. But the Germany U-21s international wants to see how much playing time he gets before committing to an extension.

Moukoko has started in both of Borussia Dortmund’s games so far this season. And he will likely be in the starting XI again on Friday as the Black and Yellows go up against SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga.

Borussia Dortmund signed Anthony Modeste on Monday evening as a short-term replacement for Sebastien Haller, who will be sidelined for several months. But they are still counting on Youssoufa Moukoko to play an important role this season, as sporting director Sebastian Kehl stated last week.

Moukoko’s reluctance to extend his contract stems from his lack of playing time last season. The highly rated striker was limited to just 482 minutes of playing time last season, thanks in part to the number of injuries that he had to deal with.
