Gregor Kobel put in another excellent performance in goal for Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, and he received big praise from his head coach after the game.

Borussia Dortmund managed to get the three points against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday evening, but they needed another world class performance from Gregor Kobel to get the job done. The goalkeeper has been in excellent form in recent weeks, and he showed his quality once again on Saturday by making six crucial saves to keep the Eagles at bay.

Edin Terzic was full of praise of Kobel after the game. The Borussia Dortmund head coach said that they have an outstanding goalkeeper, who they can rely on at all times.

"“Gregor is an outstanding goalkeeper. We let him down a bit in Berlin, by failing to turn it around. We were really sorry about that. We can rely on Gregor 100 percent. And we are of course very happy that he is performing like this. We still wish he had less to do but we know that he is an important part of the team and we can rely on him if we need. Gregor is doing an excellent job and we hope that he can continue to perform like this.”"

Kobel has shown his quality time and time again since joining Borussia Dortmund from VFB Stuttgart last year. The 24 year old had an uncharacteristically off night against Union Berlin earlier this month. But he has recovered from that error, and has been back to his very best over the last few games.

The Switzerland international saved Riyad Mahrez’s penalty on Tuesday to help Borussia Dortmund earn a draw against Manchester City and qualify for the UEFA Champions League round of 16. And he followed that up by putting in another man of the match performance against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Former Germany captain Lothar Matthäus also praised Gregor Kobel on Saturday, saying that he is the type of goalkeeper who can help a team win titles. And Borussia Dortmund fans will certainly be hoping that proves to be the case.
