Borussia Dortmund are set to face local rivals VfL Bochum this weekend in what will be their final home game of the calendar year.

There are just three more games left to play before the Bundesliga takes a break for the FIFA World Cup. Borussia Dortmund will be at the Westfalenstadion for the final time in 2022 this weekend, and a local derby against VfL Bochum awaits them.

We should be in for another captivating contest between these two sides if last season is anything to go by. Borussia Dortmund suffered a 3-4 defeat at home to VfL Bochum last season, and they will have to be at their best if they want to get the three points on Saturday.

The Black and Yellows are currently on a five game unbeaten run, and they managed to claim a crucial 2-1 win away to Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend. After rotating his team for the trip to FC Copenhagen on Wednesday, Edin Terzic will likely welcome the likes of Jude Bellingham, Julian Brandt, and Youssoufa Moukoko back into the starting XI this weekend.

Marco Reus could also return to the squad as he looks to prove his fitness ahead of the FIFA World Cup. But Marius Wolf and Tom Rothe have been ruled out, and Raphael Guerreiro is a doubt.

Bochum are 17th in the Bundesliga standings, but their two wins in the Bundesliga this season have come against Eintracht Frankfurt and Union Berlin. They have looked revitalised since the arrival of Thomas Letsch as head coach.

Bochum will have to make do without a number of key players on Saturday, including Dominique Heintz, Takuma Asano, Erhan Masovic and Jacek Goralski.
